COPTHALL AVENUE
City of London
Client: LM Stern
Project Type: Fully fitted offices
Scope: Art Strategy
Spaces: 8 offices
Completion: Summer 2023
Copthall Avenue is an office space development in the heart of London's financial district. The building was originally constructed in 1888 as a print house and housed a bank in recent years. The building is currently undergoing renovations, with four additional floors added to the existing façade, a striking blend of historic and contemporary architecture.
RESIDENTIAL-STYLE
aesthetic
LM Stern, the Asset Manager behind Copthall Avenue, appointed Danika to create an art strategy for all eight fully fitted office spaces in the building. The artwork selected reflects the refined residential-style aesthetic of the interiors, while also bringing a hint of "cool London."
Due to the large open plan nature of the offices, every wall is exposed on entering each space. This requires the visual journey be considered as one experience, and the art edit in each office thus speaks as a harmonious collection of works.
The art selection process was highly collaborative, Danika working closely with LM Stern to ensure that the final artworks met the needs of the space. The result is a collection of works that are both visually impactful and appropriate, creating a unique and memorable workplace environment.
FOCUS ON
versatility
We curated a selection of editioned prints, all presented in high spec custom frames. Each piece was chosen for its intellectual presence, artistic merit and aesthetic appeal. Additionally, versatility of the selection played a key role, being mindful that each piece needed to work as part of a group, and also as stand alone harmoniously alongside other interior features.
