Situated in Nine Elms, The Lark neighbours the newly developed Battersea Power Station and the American Embassy, sitting within one of the most exciting new London districts.
Located on the site of the former Royal Mail sorting office, the amenity focused property wanted to highlight the communal and public facing spaces, projecting a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, while also clearly presenting a contemporary, urban experience.
EVOLVING
Danika was initially onboarded to create and implement the art strategy for the interiors, and as the project evolved, was also engaged for styling and photography services.

WOOD
The work for the resident entrance was a custom piece, 200 painted wood blocks arranged on the wall main wall to mimic a murmur of birds, a gentle reference to the building’s name and branding.
The blocks were built in Madrid, Spain, the design and install was completed by Danika.

BESPOKE
The show flats were dressed when Danika was appointed to the project, so we were excited to create an art edit that would introduce a truly bespoke element to the existing interiors and breathe life into the flats in preparation for tours.

All artwork included were curated limited edition prints and photographs, the majority by London based emerging artists. All pieces were set in custom frames.
COMMUNAL
The concierge, conference rooms, and communal amenity area required dressing and artwork. For the large shelves behind the front desk, one of the most visible and high trafficked areas in the building, we created a custom object and art edit that included a curated book selection, both coffee table and paperbacks, limited edition artwork, photography, live plants and objets d'art.

This project is an illuminating example of the value of a curatorial perspective across multiple areas of a development, demonstrating how the visual detailing is key to interior design, brand and marketability.
